Hosing asp on linux servers

Postby sdclee on Thu Jan 10, 2008 11:53 pm

The bug issue appears to be with finding a platform which will support asp and Microsoft components such as CDONTS but on a linux platform.
I'd offer a beer or three to anyone who has managed to do that successfully.

Has Microsoft changed the water? If so, maybe you could use a hybrid server system like they use at GoGrid and some other places?

Before you ask, I haven't done it. I found it on a sub or sister company of RackSpace but couldn't swing it (MOSSO I think it was).

Actually I did maintain was was a very badly built site abandoned by someone about three years ago (in asp).
Finally it was handed over to me for a rewrite (in CodeIgniter - php) and rehosting, but the problem might rear its head in the future (I hope not tho').
