Email notifications

When new topics are created you will *not* be notified by email. Notifications can be enabled on any topic you post to.
This means that you will have to login to forums periodically to see if there are new topics in the public or your private forums.

There are some mods available to deal with this but I am not going to implement them here as each of the solutions I have looked at has compromises.

In this the latest version of the forums software you can go into an individual forum and check the box at the footer to be notified of any postings to that particlular forum. Topics within a forum can be done in the same way.
